About the Characters

WINSTON LAMBERT

55, former dancer and choreographer, now ill.  Renowned and respected.  Accomplished, disciplined, creative and authentic.  Always attracted the spotlight and always eschewed it.  Loving and nurturing.  Prone to sentimentality though denies it.  Addressing his own mortality, he has become reflective, questioning and conflicted.

TYLER MORRISON

21, elite dance student, Winston's lover.  Mid-western roots.  Talented, irreverent, frustrated, impatient, playful, caring, protective.  Driven but just a bit frightened too.  Forward looking without reflection.  Can be moody, easily jealous and threatened.  Wise beyond his years but can be prone to bouts of immaturity as well.  He can't cook.

BENJAMIN CAIN

55, theater director and college professor.  Winston's former college roommate and lover.  Witty and gregarious.  Open and opinionated, often verbose.  Old-fashioned and domestic. Can be a bit naughty too.  Often romanticizes and is prone to exaggeration, loves to tell a good story.  In middle age, he is needy and now searching for that special comfort "at the end of the day".  He can cook.
